Joseph C. Antonellis is vice chairman of State Street and is responsible for Investment Servicing North America, including Sales, Investment Manager Outsourcing, Global Product Management and Global Services. He is also a member of State Street's Operating Group, the company's most senior strategy and policy-making team.

In his role as head of the North American investor services business unit, Mr. Antonellis oversees strategy, operations and business development for State Street's industry-leading investment services for mutual, public and pension funds, as well as nonprofit and insurance customers in the United States and Canada. This business represents approximately 40 percent of State Street's revenue.

In addition, Mr. Antonellis oversees State Street's investment manager operations outsourcing business unit, which is the world's largest investment manager operations outsourcer. As manager of the Global Product Management division, he drives innovation and the delivery of market leading financial products. He also manages State Street's global operations and directs the team responsible for the architecture supporting transaction processing, product capabilities and investment strategies for customers worldwide.

Under Mr. Antonellis' leadership as the former head of Global Information Technology and Operations, State Street's information technology and IT team were recognized as 'the gold standard' in developing the best solutions for customers, envisioning fresh approaches to business challenges and effectively managing IT investments by many prestigious industry publications including CIO, Computerworld, Fortune, Waters, and Information Week 500.

Mr. Antonellis joined State Street in November 1991 in Mutual Fund Services. Since then, he has held a number of leadership positions, including head of Master Trust. In 1999, he was promoted to executive vice president, with additional responsibility for the Institutional Investor Services (IIS) business unit. Mr. Antonellis was the driving force behind doubling IIS revenues, assets and customers in less than two years.

Mr. Antonellis serves on the board of directors of Euroclear PLC. He is also a director of Princeton Financial Systems Inc., a State Street Company and Boston Financial Data Services, a State Street joint venture with DST Systems, Inc. He is chairman of the board of directors for Boston Partners in Education and a member of the Business Advisory Council of Bentley College and the United Way Technology Council.

Mr. Antonellis received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Harvard College and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Bentley College.
