State Street Wins Governor's Points of Light Award
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney presented State Street with the 2006 Governor's Points of Light Award, which is the state's highest honor bestowed on volunteers. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Service Alliance, the award annually honors the unsung heroes across the Commonwealth who contribute countless hours to the community in the categories of youth and young adult, adult, older adult, lifetime achievement, business, community-based organization, and innovation in service. State Street Recognized as a Top Corporate Citizen
Business Ethics magazine named State Street to its list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens in 2006. The list puts a numerical rating on performance in eight stakeholder categories: shareholders, community, governance, diversity, employees, environment, human rights and product. State Street ranked 51st on the list, which is comprised of public US companies across all industries and sectors.

State Street Honored as Massachusetts' Largest Corporate Giver
The Boston Business Journal recognized State Street with its first-ever Corporate Philanthropy Award, which is given to the largest corporate charitable contributor in Massachusetts. In 2005, State Street contributed nearly $11.8 million to nonprofit organizations. The award was given in conjunction with the Journal's annual list of the largest corporate givers, on which State Street placed first.
