Executive Vice President
Ian Martin is an executive vice president and head of Global Services and Global Exchange for the Asia-Pacific region. He is responsible for managing State Street’s investment servicing business in the region, which provides custody, accounting, administration, transfer agency, performance measurement and other regulatory, taxation and compliance related services. He is also responsible for State Street’s data, analytics and research business in Asia Pacific.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Martin was the head of Global Markets and Global Exchange for Asia Pacific. He has held various senior management positons with State Street since 1993, including head of Global Services for Australia, Southeast Asia and Pacific, head of Foreign Exchange for Asia Pacific and Treasury manager of the Sydney branch.
Mr. Martin previously worked at ANZ Bank, where he was head of Foreign Exchange Options Trading and Sales, and at Elders Finance Group in London and Sydney.
He completed a Diplôme d’études supérieures européennes de management (Diploma of the Center of European Higher Studies of Management) at Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Reims, France, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Middlesex University, London.
Mr. Martin is a former chairman of The Australian Foreign Exchange Committee, an industry body sponsored by the Reserve Bank of Australia to represent the Australian foreign exchange market, and a former board member of the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA).
