Steve Nazzaro is an executive vice president and head of Institutional Investor Services. Steve is responsible for clients across the United States, Canada and Latin America with Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit plans as well as Retiree Services. Steve also maintains responsibility for the teams that provide Training for all of Investor Services Americas.
Steve has more than 31 years of experience at State Street. He began his career in 1986 and has held a wide variety of leadership roles across the accounting and operations divisions, servicing our mutual fund, mid-market pension and defined contribution business. He was instrumental in the formation of both the Specialized Trust Services and Defined Contribution Services divisions. In 2001, Steve left State Street for two years to serve as a senior vice president and chief operating officer in Securities Finance at Brown Brothers Harriman.
He rejoined State Street in 2003 as a senior vice president and department head for Strategic Operations and Strategy, where he led cross-divisional initiatives aimed at the redesign of operations and established the global shared services model. In this role, he provided program management leadership for the Operations Council and coordination of all communications to ensure the broad awareness of State Street’s operational goals and programs.
Steve sits on the board of Year Up, a nonprofit organization founded in 2000 and based in Boston, whose mission is to close the opportunity divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. He is also a member of the board of Archbishop Williams High School.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Suffolk University.
