It’s certainly been an eventful few months since our Spring Regulatory Insights edition, with the results of the UK’s European Union membership standing out.
As the dust in a post-Brexit world starts to settle, we wait and watch for the political and economic consequences to unfold.
After the initial Brexit reaction, the focus has now shifted to the potential medium- to longer‑term impacts. While political events have moved more quickly than expected, with Theresa May becoming UK Prime Minister, the uncertainty continues. Most notable is the ongoing leadership battle in the UK’s opposition Labour party, questions about Scotland’s response to the referendum result and the now-famous Article 50 of the EU Treaty.
As the saying goes: timing is everything.
