If our investigation shows that you have been impacted by this incident, you will receive notification via mail from State Street shortly. Included in this mailing will be a personalized access code for two years of free credit monitoring where applicable. This credit monitoring membership will monitor and alert you about key changes in your three national credit reports that may help identify possible fraudulent activity. The complimentary two-year US membership program includes:
- Daily monitoring of three national credit files
- Notifications alerting affected parties to any key changes that may help identify possible fraudulent activity
- Monthly “no hit” alerts confirming the absence of key changes
- Monthly credit score updates
- One free, three-bureau credit report upon enrollment and unlimited access to an Experian credit report for the duration of the membership
- Access to a dedicated team of fraud resolution representatives to help in the event they become a victim of identity theft
- Identity theft insurance
- Helpful information on preventing identity theft, as well as various financial calculators and tools
There are additional steps you can take to further protect your credit:
Carefully review all banking and other financial statements for unauthorized transactions. Open statements promptly and compare receipts to billing statements. If you detect any unauthorized or suspicious activity, contact your bank or financial institution immediately. You can also place a fraud alert on your credit file, or a credit freeze. Scams and Hoax Emails and Calls
Criminals can take advantage of situations like this to try to obtain personal information. We will not send e-mails asking for personal information such as your account number or password or verification of other identifying information. If you receive an e-mail that appears to be from State Street or IBT, or a telephone call from someone claiming to be a representative of State Street or IBT, do not provide any personal information. If you suspect you have received such a "hoax" e-mail or call, please report it to us by e-mailing Employee-Communication@statestreet.com.
