State Street Corporate

Corporate Citizenship

Donor Programs

In 2010, our employees contributed more than $4 million to a variety of local charities and educational institutions through our two donor programs. State Street matched $4.2 million of their gifts.

United Way support

State Street’s support for the United Way reaches across North America and includes contributions from our employees and the State Street Foundation.

In 2010, employee contributions of US$2.2 million and a foundation gift of $2.2 million allowed State Street to make a total contribution of $4.4 million.  In the Greater Boston area, State Street has been the largest single contributor to the United Way of Massachusetts Bay for 19 consecutive years.

In addition to Massachusetts, State Street provided corporate and employee support to United Way agencies in California (Alameda/San Francisco, Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Sacramento), Jacksonville, FL, Kansas City, MO, Princeton and Fairlawn, NJ, New York, NY, and Berwyn, PA as well as in the Canadian cities of Montreal and Toronto.

Matching gift program

In 2011, the State Street Foundation provided $2.2 million to match 4,900 employee gifts through its Matching Gift program. This program matches employee donations in three distinct ways and allows them to contribute even more to their communities.

GiveMore matches employee contributions to charitable organizations or educational institutions

DoMore matches employee volunteer hours at a charitable nonprofit with a monetary grant

CollectMore matches fulfilled pledges raised by an individual employee for an organized fund-raising event

The Matching Gift program is open to qualified charitable organizations and accredited educational institutions across State Street’s offices worldwide.
