Senior Vice President, Branch Manager
Scott Newman is senior vice president, branch manager and board member of State Street Bank International GmbH Poland branch. In this role, Scott is responsible for leading the local management team, business development and governance. The State Street International GmbH Poland branch was established in November 2007 and has since grown exponentially, providing fund accounting, derivatives, securities valuation, hedge fund administration and performance & analytics..
Prior to transferring to State Street in Krakow, Scott was based in Munich where he led the research and setup of the new office in Krakow as well as relationship and project management roles. Scott joined State Street in 2003 through the acquisition of Deutsche Bank’s global custody business at which time he was based in Frankfurt, Germany and worked extensively on the aforementioned acquisition and integration.
At Deutsche Bank, Scott held roles in custody client service, product development and PMO.
He holds a bachelor of arts in business administration and is fluent in German.
Senior Vice President, Deputy Branch Manager
Anthony Thompson is a senior vice president, senior managing director and chief operating officer in Poland. Anthony joined State Street in August 2018 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he held numerous senior management positions, both domestically and internationally.
Anthony is an accomplished financial services manager with 20 years of experience in consumer banking and wealth management. He has successfully managed large operational and client service organizations, with a particular focus on strategic and business development, risk management solutions and operational effectiveness. Anthony’s background includes strategic and business development, risk management solutions, leadership and talent management and operational efficiencies.
Managing Director, Head of Business Services
Tomasz Horaček is a managing director, head of business services for State Street Bank International in Poland. He joined from HSBC in 2013 as head of project management for Poland until September 2016, when his role expanded to include business services. Tomasz is responsible for audit, branch governance, business support, enterprise risk management, facility management, information technology, marketing, legal, project management, security, strategy, finance and treasury.
He holds a master of science degree from University of Science (Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza) in telecommunication engineering and electronics. Tomasz was working in the local and international IT sector and IT consulting at the beginning of his career. Over the last 12 years, he was engaged in multiple projects for setting up shared service centers in Poland and CEE region for financial industry. He was also involved in various transformational projects ranging from new product launches, process reengineering, automation, operating model design and transactions.
Tomasz has lived in Germany for over 10 years and is fluent in Polish, English and German.
Managing Director, Gdańsk General Manager, Head of Fund Administration
Alex began his career at State Street in Boston over 20 years ago and has since held managerial and leadership positions in a number of locations including Cape Town, London and Krakow. After 7 years in Krakow, Alex relocated to Gdansk in 2016 to lead the new office opening. As general manager in Gdansk, Alex drives strategy, provides oversight and governance over the Gdansk management team, support and corporate functions. He also represents State Street in local market forums, universities and business associations. As Poland’s Head of Fund Administration, he leads teams providing Financial Reporting, Tax and Depositary Services for EMEA clients.
Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Risk Management Center of Risk Excellence
Piotr is a financial professional with multiple years of experience across the banking, IT and engineering industries. Since joining State Street in 2011, Piotr successfully built and led the State Street Finance Shared Services Center in Poland, which includes accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), global treasury and regulatory reporting. In June 2016, Piotr assumed responsibility for the Enterprise Risk Management Center of Excellence which includes credit, liquidity, operational and market risk, quant model validation and quant model development.
Prior to joining State Street, Piotr supported the IT industry, managing the operations of IBM’s Research & Development Center as well as Hitachi SSC. Piotr began his career at RR Donnelley and has held various CFO, FP&A & project management roles in Poland.
Piotr earned a master of arts degree in economics at the Cracow University of Economics and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Teesside. He also attended the Risk Management program at the University of Chicago and Building-on-Talent program at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Managing Director, Head of Fund Accounting and Business Continuity Director
Paul has more than 25 years’ experience within the finance industry. He has been with State Street for 21 years, working in variety of Custody, Client Service and Fund Accounting management positions.
Prior to joining the team in Krakow in 2010, Paul was based in Edinburgh, UK where he managed the customer service to institutional clients of State Street based in Europe and the Middle East.
Paul transferred to Poland in 2010 were he had initial responsibility for the UK Fund Accounting business and over time his role has expanded to his current role which covers our Onshore Fund Accounting as well as Depositary and IMS functions
Paul is also the Business Continuity Director for Poland.
Vice President, Head of Global Human Resources
Renata Szostak is a vice president and head of Global Human Resources for State Street in Poland. She is responsible for human resources management, including managing and monitoring payroll, regulatory and internal reporting, compliance with local employment regulations and company policies, oversight of compensation, and benefits and talent management functions. She joined State Street in 2008 and is a member of the Poland governance team.
Prior to State Street, Renata worked for over eight years at RR Donnelley, where she supported a green field operations in Russia and Hungary and led a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) implementation in EMEA which included interfaces to payroll.
Renata holds a Master of Business Administration from the Polish Open University (accredited by Oxford Brookes University) and a Master of Arts in modern European studies from North London University.
