Brenda Lyons is executive vice president and global head of Corporate Secretarial and Administration Services. She is also member of the Legal, Corporate Administration, Regulatory Affairs and Security (LCARS) Executive Management Team.
Brenda is responsible for managing and executing the responsibilities of the Corporate Secretary’s Office, leading the team that supports the Board of Directors, as well as promoting overall board effectiveness and governance. She oversees planning and executing all Corporate Board and Committee meetings, shaping how the content of materials is presented and used, as well as maintaining all required governance documents and records. In this role, Brenda is responsible for extending appropriate elements of these activities throughout our legal entities and other governance structures and related functions globally.
Brenda joined State Street in 2007 and has both a broad and deep understanding of our business. She has extensive industry experience and knowledge and has held numerous executive positions within the Investment Services business. Her State Street experience includes time spent in global roles as the head of the Investment Services Product organization and before that, as the head of Fund Administration. Most recently, she drove business management matters across Investment Services and company-wide, including activities related to market data strategies, global footprint, leadership meetings, remediation actions and governance for North American legal entities.
Prior to joining us, Brenda was a managing director with Deutsche Asset Management (and its legacy companies) where she served as president of the Scudder Mutual Funds, among other responsibilities. After leaving Deutsche Asset Management, Brenda started a consulting practice where she consulted to a board of trustees overseeing a large mutual funds complex.
Brenda is experienced in board governance; she is a current member of the State Street Foundation Board, and previously served on the IFDS LP and Syntel Services Private Limited boards. Brenda is also a current member of the regional board of directors for American Red Cross of Massachusetts and a former member of the board of directors for Big Sisters of Greater Boston, Cradles to Crayons, Thayer Academy and The Sage School. Brenda is a member of C200 and The Boston Club. Brenda received a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Bentley College.
