Assessing the rapid pace of ETF adoption

Yie-Hsin Hung, State Street Global Advisors President and CEO meets with Robert Pettman, Executive Vice President of Wealth Management Solutions at LPL Financial, to unpack what key themes have emerged from the proliferation of ETFs in recent years.

LPL Financial is considered a pioneer in the financial advisory industry, servicing more than 22,000 advisors nationwide. The firm is committed to giving independence and freedom to advisors, allowing them to run their practice with a focus on individual client needs.

Pettman attributes the uptick in levels of ETF adoption to the brokerage-to-advisor macro shift that’s been occurring in the wealth management business. As a newer, younger generation of advisors facilitates this adoption, it also creates an opportunity for innovations in product development. These new and unique solutions will continue to keep pace as technology advancements in the industry evolve.
