Julia McCarthy is executive vice president and head of Client Experience for State Street. In this capacity, she has accountability for ensuring and influencing a best-in-industry experience for our clients. She leads global teams accountable for establishing a holistic understanding of our clients’wants, needs and experiences and accordingly influencing prioritization in the interest of meeting and exceeding these expectations. With oversight for marketing, client onboarding experience, our Chief Experience Office, client administration team and accountability for client service, Julia is responsible for designing and delivering client delight. Julia is a member of our Management Committee.
Julia has more than 30 years of experience in financial services. Most recently, she held senior leadership roles at Fidelity Investments, where she was responsible for the launch of its entry into expanding workplace health care benefits for employers beyond recordkeeping. Prior to that role, she was head of Workplace Marketing, Solutions and Customer Experience with a focus on product, marketing and experiences driving customer loyalty. Before joining Fidelity, Julia held leadership positions with Affiliated Computer Services and Mellon Financial Corporation. She spent the first eight years of her career in human resources at The Boston Company.
Julia holds several leadership positions internally, including: co-chair of our executive talent council which advances development and promotion for senior leaders, chair of the global advisory board and executive sponsor to our Professional Women’s Network focused on career development, business acumen and other professional skills, and is also a member of Leading Women, a sponsorship program for senior women across the company. Julia is a member of our North America Benefits Committee.
Julia received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Assumption College. She serves on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts (BBBSEM) and is co-chair of the Board Diversity Committee. She joined the BBBSEM Board; focused on expanding their service and impact across Eastern Massachusetts doubling the youth served within five years. Julia also served on the board of directors for Secure Retirement Institute.
