
Elizabeth (Liz) Joyce
Elizabeth (Liz) Joyce is executive vice president and chief information security officer at State Street. In this role, she is responsible for the overall information security program for the organization.
Before joining State Street, she worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for more than 10 years where she held various positions such as senior vice president and chief security officer, responsible for building extensible security capabilities that protect HPE’s assets and workforce, as well as enable and extend business capabilities. She has also worked as the chief information security officer for HPE’s software division, where she was responsible for end-to-end security and infrastructure services. Earlier on, Liz held leadership and general manager roles at companies such as Iron Mountain, and Symantec based in both the United States and Europe.
Liz serves on the board of National Technology Security Coalition, which works to unite both public and private sector stakeholders around policies that improve national cybersecurity standards and awareness. She has worked extensively with the World Economic Forum as a member of their Global Future Council on Cybersecurity. As a strong advocate for youth and underrepresented minorities, Liz has worked with Girl Scouts and other organizations to promote opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and cyber security.
Liz holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Security from University of Plymouth, United Kingdom and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Honors from University College, Dublin.
