Tim Helyar
Executive Vice President, Head of Asia Pacific

Tim Helyar is executive vice president and head of Asia Pacific (APAC) at State Street. Based in Hong Kong, he leads the firm’s strategic positioning across the region, partnering with clients, regulators, and business leaders to drive sustainable growth and strengthen State Street’s presence across APAC. Tim works closely with teams across the organization to advance the firm’s regional growth strategy, deepen client relationships and deliver a consistent, client-focused approach across markets.

Tim is a seasoned executive with more than 27 years of experience in the financial services industry across asset servicing, investment and wealth management, and pension in multiple locations including Sydney, London, and Hong Kong.

Prior to joining us in 2021 as country head for Australia, Tim spent 17 years at J.P. Morgan in various senior capacities across product management, product development, and operations. In addition to driving many large transformational programs for the business, he was actively involved in strategic client relationships and delivering change and solutions to meet client needs across product, commercial, and transformational requirements.

Tim began his career at BT Financial Group in Australia, specializing in fund accounting, investment operations, and relationship management.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales as well as being a CFA charter holder with the CFA Institute.
