Executive Vice President, Head of Client Implementation

Fereshtah Thornberg is executive vice president and head of Client Implementation at State Street. Fereshtah leads the execution of our onboarding programs across our full suite of capabilities, including implementing a robust governance framework, stakeholder engagement strategy and project execution model, thereby ensuring we meet or exceed all contractual obligations, risk protocols and financial performance targets. In this capacity, Fereshtah leads a team charged with managing client interactions, resolving issues, coordinating closely with Sales, Product and Global Delivery, gathering and acting on client feedback, and driving solutions to improve the client experience.

Previously, Fereshtah was head of Sales and Client Management, North America. In this role, she was responsible for the business development teams across four segments: asset managers, asset owners, insurance and alternatives; and the relationship management across two segments: asset managers and alternatives. These teams drive client engagement, strategy and alignment, revenue retention and growth, and thought leadership and product delivery oversight spanning all of State Street’s business lines.

Fereshtah has more than 30 years of experience in corporate banking, relationship management, treasury, finance, global markets, marketing and risk. Prior to joining State Street, she spent 13 years at JPMorgan Chase in a variety of roles including Corporate Banking, Derivatives Electronic Execution/Clearing Sales, and Corporate Treasury. Her experience also includes positions as a Global Relationship Manager at HSBC in the Financial Institutions Group covering large investment management clients; as a Foreign Exchange Controller at Deutsche Bank; and roles in risk and trade finance.

Fereshtah earned a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from St. John’s University. She has also completed Chief Revenue Officer Training at Wharton School; AI Implications for Business Strategy at MIT Executive Education; Executive Women’s Leadership training hosted by Smith College/Tuck School of Business; and is credit trained across various segments.
