John Woods
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

John Woods is executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for State Street Corporation. John is responsible for Treasury, Controllership, Tax, FP&A, Business Unit Finance, Investor Relations, M&A, and Corporate Strategy, as well as Corporate Services, including both Procurement and Real Estate. John is a member of the Executive Committee, the company’s senior leadership team.

Before joining us, John was CFO and Vice Chairman of Citizens Financial Group. Prior to Citizens, John spent several years at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group in a variety of finance leadership roles, including CFO of MUFG Union Bank, and more recently as CFO of MUFG Americas.

Earlier, John held senior finance leadership roles at other large financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase and Freddie Mac. John began his career at Arthur Andersen.

John has a bachelor of science degree in commerce from the University of Virginia.
