lan Appleyard is executive vice president, and global controller and chief accounting officer for State Street. In this role, he is responsible for leading financial reporting, regulatory reporting, billing and accounting operations, and controls activities for the company on a global scale. 

Ian has over 20 years’ experience in the finance industry and has held increasingly senior roles at global financial institutions, including JP Morgan and HSBC. In his last role, prior to joining State Street, Ian was managing director and member of the finance leadership team at Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for legal entity restructuring globally to meet regulatory requirements as well as managing the firm’s Brexit program. 

Ian graduated from King’s College London with an honors degree in electronics and qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Associate Corporate Treasurer.
