Steven Lipiner
Chief Operating Officer for State Street Global Advisors

Steven Lipiner is executive vice president and chief operating officer of State Street Global Advisors and is member of the State Street Global Advisors’ Executive Management Group. In this role, he is responsible for leading State Street Global Advisors’ Global Infrastructure including all business operations, technology, vendor management, transformation, data governance and management of the global hubs (Poland, India and China). Prior to this, Steve was chief financial officer of State Street Global Advisors managing the Global Financial Operations of the fourth largest asset manager since 2015.

Before joining State Street Global Advisors in 2015, Steve was global chief financial officer with BNY Mellon Investment Management, where he was responsible for the financial management of the asset management boutiques, distribution and wealth management businesses. From 2002 to 2007, Steve joined Mellon Financial and served as chief financial officer, first at Mellon Institutional Asset Management and then at Mellon International, based in London. Prior to joining Mellon Financial, Steve was with BankBoston / Fleet Bank from 1990 to 2002 serving in various finance and operations positions. From 1999 to 2002, he was the chief operating officer and chief financial officer for the European businesses of Fleet Bank based in London.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Business Administration in finance from City University of New York at Baruch College. Steve is the treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for Victory Programs. Steve is also on the Board of Trustees for the Baruch College Fund as well as a member of the Dimock Community Foundation Board of Directors.
