Lou Maiuri
President, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investment Services

Lou Maiuri is president, chief operating officer and head of Investment Services for State Street.

In this capacity, Lou is responsible for our Investment Services business globally, which include sales, marketing, client management, product, technology and operations to drive distinct market differentiation and deliver best-in-class client outcomes. Lou also serves on the Executive Committee, the company’s most senior enterprise strategy-setting and decision-making team.

Lou is a passionate advocate for gender and racial equity; actively working with senior leadership to drive positive change and deliver meaningful and measurable results. He served as executive sponsor for our Professional Women’s Network for five years, and has been recognized for four consecutive years (2019-2022) by Yahoo Finance’s HERoes, an annual global ranking of business leaders who are driving change to increase gender diversity in the workplace. In addition, Lou has led many of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and is active in State Street’s 10 Actions Against Racism and Inequality – serving as the executive sponsor for Action 1 focused on increasing Black and Latinx representation.

A financial services veteran with more than three decades of industry experience, Lou was named one of Global Custodian magazine’s “30 to Shape the Future of Security Services” in 2021, and one of Boston Business Journal’s 2022 Power 50. Prior to his appointment as chief operating officer in 2019 and president and head of Investment Services in 2022, he led State Street Global Markets, the firm’s research and trading arm.

Previously, Lou was executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer of asset servicing at BNY Mellon, where he was a member of the Operating Committee. Lou co-founded and served as chief operating officer and chief executive officer of Eagle Investment Systems LLC (a fintech company that is now a BNY Mellon subsidiary) and enjoyed roles in the fixed income and equity investments divisions at Fidelity Investments. Lou began his career at State Street in the early 1990s as a vice president of Technology. He also serves on the Board for the Boston Public Library Fund.
