Executive Vice President, co-head of State Street Global Services EMEA
Mike Fontaine is an executive vice president and co-head of Global Services for EMEA. Mike is responsible for advancing the company’s cross-border growth strategy in Ireland, Luxembourg and the Channel Islands and provides regional oversight to International Financial Data Services (IFDS), State Street’s transfer agency joint venture with DST. Mike is also a member of the EMEA Management Committee.
Mike serves as the global business and operations lead for a preeminent component of State Street’s asset servicing business. In this role, Mike has accounting, administration, custody, product development and relationship management responsibilities servicing Exchange Traded Funds, alternative fund structures, and retail pooled products domiciled in the US, Canada and Europe. He also serves as the executive lead for State Street’s Wealth Manager Services (WMS) division. His career spans more than 25 years in the financial services industry with significant experience in designing and implementing operations infrastructures, transforming global service models, and constructing appropriate risk management frameworks.
Mike joined State Street in July 2007 as part of the acquisition of Investors Financial (IBT) where he served as the business and operations lead for a significant division of the US asset servicing business as well as IBT’s Toronto Office. Prior to IBT, Mike was with Ernst & Young’s audit practice.
Mike holds an MS in accounting from Bentley University and a BA in economics from the University of Vermont. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is an active member of the AICPA and MSCPA.
Senior Vice President, Head of Global Services Ireland and the Channel Islands
Tadhg joined State Street in 2007 and was appointed Country Head - Ireland in 2018. He is also currently Head of Global Services Ireland and Channel Islands, having acted as Chief Operating Officer of State Street International (Ireland) Limited since 2012. Prior to joining State Street, Tadhg was Head of Trustee, Custody and Middle Office Servicing with IBT Ireland (acquired by State Street in 2007).
In his current role, Tadhg oversees the management of the largest fund services provider in Ireland, servicing assets in excess of $1tn managed by some of the world’s leading investment management firms and financial houses.
Tadhg previously held a number of senior management roles with Allianz Global Investors Ireland where he was Managing Director, and with Dresdner Bank in Ireland where he headed the fund administration group and later became Head of Operations for banking and fund services. Tadhg qualified as a Chartered Accountant while working as a tax consultant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Tadhg was a member of the Council of Irish Funds from 2013 to 2017 and was Chair of the industry body for 2015/2016. He is currently a member of the IFS2020 Joint Committee established to support the implementation of the Irish Government’s IFS2020 strategy.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Member of the Irish Taxation Institute.
Managing Director, Head of State Street Global Advisors Ireland
Ann Prendergast is a managing director and head of State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) Ireland. Joining SSGA Ireland as a relationship manager in 2000, Ann subsequently became head of this area in 2010, with responsibility for managing SSGA’s engagement activities with a client base that includes pension schemes, charities, corporate and intermediaries. Ann was appointed head of SSGA Ireland in July 2017.
Prior to joining SSGA Ireland, Ann worked with the Bank of Ireland Group in both their fund administration and private banking divisions.
Ann holds a business studies degree from the University of Limerick and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She is a director of the Irish Association of Pension Funds and is on the board of the National Gallery of Ireland.
Senior Managing Director, Head of AIS EMEA
Bob Keogh is senior managing director and head of State Street’s Alternative Investment Solutions group in EMEA since June 2016. He is responsible for State Street’s AIS group in EMEA, supporting the hedge fund, private equity and real estate businesses in the region and providing support for State Street’s global client base.
Bob has more than two decades of experience in financial services, the last 18 of which have been in the alternatives fund industry, working in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Most recently, he was head of AIS for Asia Pacific where he drove significant growth in the business. Prior to that, he worked for State Street’s International Fund Services (IFS) division in Dublin and was responsible for managing hedge-fund servicing funds teams in Europe and Asia.
Bob joined State Street in 2012 as part of State Street’s acquisition of Goldman Sachs Administration Services (GSAS). At GSAS, he ran the business for Europe and Asia, establishing offices for GSAS in Ireland, Hong Kong and Singapore. He was also chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Bank Europe PLC from April 2009 to September 2012.
Bob is a fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a CFA Charterholder.
Senior Managing Director, Head of Hedge Fund Services EMEA
Stephen Johnston is responsible for State Street’s hedge fund business in EMEA. He has more than 26 years’ experience in the financial services industry spanning fund accounting, investor servicing, quality assurance and regulatory reporting.
Stephen has managed the State Street office in Drogheda since its opening in 2005 and he also managed the Investor Servicing and Global Regulatory Reporting groups for the Alternatives division. In 2008, he helped establish State Street’s alternatives operation in Krakow.
Stephen is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. He commenced his career in London in 1989 and returned to Dublin in 1993 working in audit and accountancy practice. Stephen has a master’s degree in history from Trinity College Dublin.
