R. Bryan Woodard

R. Bryan Woodard is executive vice president with responsibility for managing the legal affairs of the State Street Global Markets, State Street Global Exchange, State Street Global Operations and Credit Services divisions of State Street Corporation. In this role, Bryan oversees a global team of over sixty attorneys located in Boston, Frankfurt, London, New York, Hong Kong, Princeton and Tokyo supporting our data analytics and capital markets businesses; including: equities, foreign exchange, exchange traded derivatives, electronic platforms and securities lending. Bryan also oversees all aspects of the provision of State Street’s core global custody services, including: globally trade processing and settlement, deposit and cash services, tax, income, outsourcing, corporate and class action services, global sub-custody and correspondent bank management.

Prior to joining State Street, Bryan was a senior associate with Ropes & Gray, a preeminent global law firm headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, where he represented private equity funds and public companies in connection with debt and equity securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions and advised clients on a wide range of securities law compliance and governance issues. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Bryan was an officer in the United States Air Force.

Bryan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the United States Air Force Academy and his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where he was also an editor of the Boston College Law Review. Bryan is an executive committee member of the Financial Markets Lawyers Group sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
