This quarter’s Digital Digest follows a major milestone for our Digital Asset Solutions team. In May, State Street was named Digital Asset Partnership of the Year at the Global Custodian Awards. Reflecting the strength of our collaboration with Taurus and the foundation we’re building for a modern, institutional-grade custody solution, this recognition was well earned by our team.

For this edition, we take a closer look at how decentralized finance (DeFi) is reshaping traditional models of custody, trading and institutional asset servicing — while exploring how the lessons of traditional finance (TradFi) can help shape a more secure and scalable digital landscape.

First, Chris Rowland, head of Custody, Digital and Fund Services Product, and Zahid Mustafa, head of Digital Assets Custody, examine the future of digital custody.
