Executive Vice President and Head of Custody, Cash and Depositary Bank Services

Chris Rowland is executive vice president and head of Custody, Cash and Depositary Bank Services at State Street. In his role, Chris is responsible for setting the strategy, managing the investment roadmap, and managing the P&L of products provided to institutional investor clients.

As head of Custody, Cash and Depositary Bank Services, Chris also has responsibility for our Network Management team and setting strategy for our network of 150 Agent and Correspondent bank relationships.

Prior to joining us, Chris worked at J.P. Morgan for 22 years where he was product executive for Custody and head of EMEA Securities Services, as well as served on subsidiary bank boards in EMEA. Earlier, Chris worked at BNP Paribas Securities Services for five years where he led the sales and relationship management team for the Direct Custody and Clearing business in the United Kingdom.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and politics from Swansea University. He is a serving board member of Proxymity and ISSA (International Securities Services Association).
