Scott Carpenter
Executive Vice President, Global Head of Private Markets and Credit

Scott Carpenter is executive vice president and global head of Private Markets and Credit at State Street. In this role, he is responsible for the strategy, product capabilities, P&L and overall market position of the Private Markets and Credit fund servicing businesses of State Street. Scott is also a member of State Street’s Executive Operating Group.

In his career of 31 years at State Street, Scott has relocated on several expatriate assignments to further our global product expansions, has supported many major business lines and has held leadership positions across Alternatives operations, Alternatives client relationship management and strategy, AIS Hedge Fund Administration business, Private Equity and Real Assets Fund Services, and client consulting. He also served as both the North America segment head for Alternatives and the global chief operating officer for Alternatives. Prior to his current role, Scott was global head of Complex Operations, and was responsible for building our high quality and scalable bank loan operating capability.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in management and entrepreneurial studies from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and is an active member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. He also serves as a Board Director of the Boston-based nonprofit organizations Communities Rising Together and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester Massachusetts. He is a newly elected Board Member of the Managed Funds Association (MFA) and is a recent inductee into the Global Custodian Securities Services Hall of Fame.
