Wealth Services

Wealth services ar 2025 v2

In 2025, State Street took meaningful steps toward establishing a fully integrated Wealth Services offering designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving global market. Our efforts focused on building the core elements of a modern, unified experience: enhancing front-office technology, strengthening digital custody and clearing capabilities, and deepening integration across the franchise.

Together, these advances represent the first phase of constructing a Wealth Services business aligned with the ways advisors and investors expect to engage today.

“We are expanding our capabilities to support a rapidly evolving wealth ecosystem with trusted infrastructure, integrated technology, and solutions that help clients serve investors more effectively.”

John Plansky

Setting a clear strategy for growth

The global wealth management market represents one of the largest and fastest growing pools of financial assets, with an estimated $191 trillion in global investable wealth. However, fragmented legacy operating models and technology, along with limited integration of public and private investments, have contributed to suboptimal experiences for advisors and individual investors alike.

State Street is uniquely positioned to help address these challenges through our scale, operational depth, trusted infrastructure, and ability to integrate data, technology, and investment capabilities across the entire wealth value chain.

Our strategy leverages core institutional strengths and our existing business in major segments of this market. For example, Charles River Development (CRD) Wealth delivers front-office software and data solutions to more than 40 enterprise wealth managers supporting over $3 trillion in assets. State Street Investment Management currently oversees more than $1 trillion in wealth-related assets across its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and multi-asset investment solutions. In addition, the global operational, data, and trading capabilities offered by our Investment Services and Markets businesses form the backbone of a modern, end-to-end wealth platform.

Delivering on our strategy in 2025

In 2025, we made meaningful progress in advancing our objectives. A significant milestone was our partnership and minority investment in Apex Fintech SolutionsTM, a leading digital-first custody and clearing provider serving more than 200 clients and powering over $200 billion in assets. Combining Apex’s cloud-native, API-driven platform with State Street’s global infrastructure allows us to create a differentiated digital custody and clearing solution for enterprise wealth managers, advisors, and digital-native platforms across major global markets. This partnership also strengthens connectivity with our Investment Management business’s ETF capabilities and Markets’ trading solutions, delivering a more seamless, data-rich experience across the wealth value chain.

At the same time, CRD Wealth advanced its position as the front-office engine of our Wealth offering, delivering enhancements in personalization, unified managed account capabilities, and advisor workflow tools. These improvements deepen CRD’s integration with our downstream servicing and elevate its role in powering modern advisor and investor experiences.

We also announced an alliance with University of California (UC) Investments to develop a financial wellness and retirement application for participants in UC’s defined contribution plans. The initiative will leverage artificial intelligence to create a best-in-class solution for UC, with broader applicability across workplace savings and retirement markets.

Positioned for the future

We aim to become a leading global provider of integrated technology, data, and servicing solutions for the wealth ecosystem, including advanced advisor software and a digital custody and clearing platform. Our 2025 progress sets a solid foundation for our next stage of growth. CRD Wealth’s scale, combined with the differentiated digital custody and clearing capabilities enabled by our investment in Apex, position us well to support the evolving needs of global wealth managers.

Our long-term strategy brings Investment Services, Markets, and Investment Management closer together, enabling better data connectivity, more integrated operating models, and deeper client engagement. We remain committed to delivering trusted infrastructure, modern technology and a comprehensive suite of capabilities that help wealth managers operate more efficiently and create better outcomes for investors.
